The name comes from the Koine Greek αμέθυστος amethystos from α- a-, "not" and μεθύσκω (Ancient Greek) methysko / μεθώ metho (Modern Greek), "intoxicate", a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness.[1] Ancient Greeks wore amethyst and carved drinking vessels from it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication

11/23/2024 - received this beauty in the mail yesterday 11/22/2024, it had some small flaws that honestly are no big deal but overall, it a beautiful gemstone I'm happy I made this purchase and will mostly make more in the future for sure!!!
