Trapiche sapphire is gem quality corundum. A trapiche is a gem with six-spoked growth features. They contain liquid,two-phase (a combination of liquid and gas), and solid fillings of magnesium-bearing calcite and dolomite. Trapiche sapphires, as well as trapiche gems, are rare. They are only found in a few locations, mostly in Mogok, Myanmar and Kashmir.
