Here I present another color-shifting pyralspite garnet from the Umber Valley of Tanzania.
This gem shifts from a fuchsia pink to salmon pink to red under different lighting conditions. It also throws some blue and orange flashes of dispersion which for a garnet is a neat feature.
The rough this gem was cut from was almost pleochroic in nature being a distinct rhodolite pink on one angle and almost pure red on another, it was quite intriguing to say the least.
With a 5x7x4mm size format its perfect for use in jewelry.
Unheated and untreated as nature made it.
