Chrysoprase is a variety of chalcedony (quartz) which is an opalescent apple green color. Most green gemstones owe their color to chromium or vanadium, but chrysoprase derives it’s stunning color fromnickel content.

Please note that on our recent buying trip we discovered that 70% 0f the chrysoprase on the market is in fact dyed white chalcedony. All our Chrysoprase has been tested in the lab and is the real thing.
