Gr- 49 This natural Australian Torrington Emerald we cut ourselves from gem rough mined from a pegmatite on the Torrington gemfields of northern New South Wales Australia. These stones can be very difficult to cut often having hollow tubes {probably containing some form of gas or liquid when being formed} running through the crystal which can ruin a gem if they intersect a facet. At the very least the gem will shrink in size while attempts to remove them cause you to have to cut more of the crystal away.
