Natural unheated blue sapphire weighing 30.41ct from Madagascar.
In gemmology the hue is violetish blue, with an interesting modifying color that is typical of African sapphires.
In jewelry the hue is 'raven blue', a visual cue designers used to describe the in-between color with immediacy.
In daylight the sapphire is lighter; indoors or in warmer light we see its purple undertone in the blue.
This is not color change but a modifying color that can affect how our eyes pick up the sapphire's color moment to moment.
