ORIGIN : MADEM-LAKKOS MINE, CHALKIDIKI, MACEDONIA, GREECE
(MACEDONIA - THE LAND OF THE GREEK KING ALEXANDER THE GREAT)
A wonderful example from this locality consisting of well formed creamy pink Rhodochrosite with a nice saturation of color along with a shiny golden intergrown Pyrite crystals. Minor micro Quartz crystals present. Specimen looks interesting under magnification. Specimen is mounted in a 40x34x31mm display case. Specimens from this locality come from old miners and were found decades ago. The locality is hardly known to the mineral world and specimens from this locality are now found in private collections. Hardly any of this material from this locality is available on the market which makes it a rarer specimen (google search). Specimen comes from the historically mined but now closed and refilled upper levels of the Madem-Lakkos deposit in Northern Greece. Will be a great addition to any rock and mineral collection. This is the opportunity to add this old timer and Greek classic to your rock or mineral collection.
