SUNSTONE.'METEORITE SHOWER'
This is one of Australia's most unique gemstone found in 1985 in the harts range Northern territory. When mined the stone has natural fractures so the best cut is a long rectangle.
This stone has the play of colour on both sides.
This is a natural stone with a amazing display of fire and a dark base .
Great in any collection.
The lattice display is very directional so we have shown it here at its best angle.
Its a mixture of feldspar predominately moonstone with limenite and triangles which have a stunning display of iridescent rainbow .Most specimens also have hematite[sunstone] and a moon stone effect , Adularescence.
The GIA identified it and declared it as a new gem variety in 1989
