PRE-SALES ANALYSIS

I have 8 years of Field Experience in Geology. Pre-Sale, All stones are Inspected for Authenticity using: Refractometer, Color Filters, Dichroscope, Polariscopic, Dark Field Illumination, Immersion cell and 100x Microscope,. All Gemland items are guaranteed. We Periodically certify random stones from every lot as Due-Diligence. We guarantee any stone will certify as stated.

TREATMENTS

In today’s gem market many stones are treated to improve a stones appearance. Treatments Include, Heating, Fracture Filling with Lead Glass, Cobalt, Resin, Beryllium or Borax Flux Treatments, Etc. There is nothing wrong with purchasing or selling a treated stone. As long as Treatments are fully disclosed and product is priced accordingly. Sadly Treatments other the Simple Gentle Heat are rarely disclosed or Understood at the retail level. Purchasing from Gemland means you will have full disclosure on any treatments. All stones are guaranteed to Please and you have 7 days to Return any item if you feel it arrived not as promised.

CLARITY

Gemland uses the GIA Clarity Grade Chart for Colored stones.   VVS Means Clean to the naked Eye (not with a loop)   Type 1, 2 and 3 stones All have Different Definitions for what VVS means..  Clarity is Judged looking through the table only,  Under Natural Daylight or at 12 inches from eyes and 8 inches from a standard desk lamp with lamp shining directly into the table..   (Not using transmitted light,  and not 2 inches from a Lightbulb)   This is industry standard Clarity Rating procedures

Type 1 (usually Eye Clean) = Chrysoberyl,  Helodore, Topaz, Tanzanite, Green Tourmaline, Blue Zircon and Diamonds

Type 2 (Usually Included)= Ruby / Sapphire,  Garnets, Peridot, Quartz,  Spinel, Tourmaline (other than Green / Red), Aquamarine,   Zircon (all but blue)

Type 3 (Almost always Included) = Emerald, Red Tourmaline, Fanta and Mandarin Spessartite,

VVS1 Means

Type 1 Completely Eye Clean,  Inclusions hard to see with 10x loope

Type 2  Mostly Eye Clean with only a few dust size particles hardly visible,  Inclusions somewhat easy to see with a loop

Type 3 Very Eye Clean,  Straining one’s eyes will see some tiny inclusions,  Not Loop Clean

I have only seen 2 colored stones in my time that I would call totally IF,   So we don’t use the term IF,  ever,  (as it is not accepted by GIA standards)   Colored stones are not Diamonds,  The Material is truly rare,  and the Odd little Inclusion is nothing to be afraid of when compared with the material quality and Rarity,    Color and Initial Wow Factor is by far the most important factor in Colored stones,  

Please remember when you are looking at the 10mm stone on an 15inch screen,  This is far beyond the maximum allowable 10x Magnification..   Most stones that appear a bit included on the screen are actually much better in hand…
