Paraiba tourmaline is the birthstone for those born in October.
The beautiful Paraiba Tourmaline was discovered back in the 1980s in Brazil. The high concentration of copper is responsible for the highly coveted radiant blue and green hues in the Paraiba stone. Depending on the copper content in the precious stone, the resultant color of the gemstone may also be blue-green.
