Wonderful example glassy and sparkling Andradite garnets and Epidote micro crystals along with minor Uralite crystals with characteristic wood like structure. Specimen is very interesting under magnificaion as there are features to explore, can you spot the Uralite cube that is covered by massive silica rich in iron oxides. These are the best crystals that can be found in Greece. Uralite is not a specific mineral but the name of amphibole pseudomorph after pyroxene group mineral and this is the best known pseudomorph of this kind in Greece. The locality is hardly known to the mineral world and none of this material from this locality is available on the market which makes it a rare specimen (google search). Although crystals are visible to the naked eye, specimen requires magnification in order to fully enjoy the crystal structures and colors. Will be an interesting addition to any rock and mineral collection.
