Black star diopside is not known to be enhanced. This gem sells for a hefty price in the retail market! Diopside, in gem quality, is usually either a Star or Cat's Eye Diopside in the black or dark brown or a spectacularly vivid emerald green in the Chrome Diopside variety. Sometimes referred to as Hedenbergite. The star/eye varieties are sometimes said to be gateways for spirits to see into our world and our hearts. Sometimes said to be the dwelling places of these spirits as well.
Opaque and black with a unique 4-rayed star, unlike any other star gemstone.
