A wonderful example of a specimen now found only in private collections from this locality consisting of pink Rhodochrosite with a wonderful saturation of color which is topped with well formed micro terminanted Quartz crystals. Very interesting Boulangerite (hair-like crystals) among the Quartz and also covering the whole bottom of the specimen. Boulangerite is a sulfosalt mineral and typically forms in a unique crystal habit of fine acicular crystals that appear as woven, hair-like fibers. Specimen looks very interesting under magnification as there are details to explore, enjoy viewing the rare needles of Boulangerite close up. Boulangerite is a not so well known species and I have not seen any in private collections. Specimens from this locality come from old miners and were found decades ago. The locality is hardly known to the mineral. Hardly any of this material from this locality is available on the market which makes it a rarer specimen (google search). Will be a great addition to any rock and mineral collection. This is the opportunity to add this old timer and Greek classic to your rock or mineral collection.
