A wonderful and rare to see example from Greece consisting of intense red Realgar micro crystals, minor orange Orpiment and minor lead gray Stibnite on a Quartz matrix. Realgar is very rare from Greece and this remote, rare locality has mostly produced masses of it. This piece is an exception as it hosts a well formed crystal of red Realgar. This material comes from a find in 2017 at a small abandoned mine (about 20 m trench) that operated for a short time during WWII. This find produced a limited amount of specimens. The locality is unknown to the mineral world and none of this material from this locality is available on the market which makes it a rare specimen (google search). Specimen is interesting under magnification. Although crystals are obvious to the naked eye, specimen requires magnification in order to enjoy the range of interesting structures. Interesting locality piece and representative of the finest Realgar from Greece. Will be an interesting addition to any rock and mineral collection. Do not miss this opportunity.
